Kim Alexander grew up as one of eight children in the projects of New Orleans. She escaped sexual. mental and physical abuse by excelling in academics and sports. She graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans, finding success in corporate America. As an accomplished athlete in track and field, she  participated in the the 1976 Olympic Trials. Later she honed her culinary skills at Johnson and Wales, Charlotte, graduating in 2015.

At one of the lowest points in her life, after Hurricane Katrina, abandoned and lost, she found her purpose and strength through her faith. The vision to mentor ex-offenders into successful entrepreneurs came to her as a way to free others who are in a hopeless situation. When all odds are stacked against them, there is hope and a second chance through Our Daily Bread Foundation.
