Our Daily Bread Foundation’s Summer Baking Program prepares youth for career opportunities in the food industry while teaching valuable lessons in kitchen safety and sanitation, health, nutrition, leadership, and team building.
With a focus on low-cost, healthy eating, this series of classes introduces new foods, and teaches participants about fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices, as well as kitchen safety and sanitation to prepare for students’ career success. Each class features a different meal – breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, and culminates with a career development workshop.
This program is designed for youth ages 13-15. Participants have four sessions to choose from:
- July (Wednesday Session): 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31
- July (Saturday Session): 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27
